When No One Showed Up — But God Did

Sometimes, the people we expect to show up for us… don’t.

That’s what happened to me. I was standing there, ready to connect the power to my home. I had everything I needed — except for the people who promised to help. They never came. No one did.

But I refused to give up.

So, I Googled it. I YouTubed it. I took a deep breath and said, “Okay, Lord, it’s just You and me.”

And you know what? I did it. I connected the inside bypass panel to the outside breaker box myself — and when that power kicked on, my home came alive.

There was light.

Earlier that day, I was sitting in my car, waiting for my daughter to get out of church. I had the live feed playing on YouTube, just listening.

The preacher said something that caught my heart:

“There’s only one of me, and there are seventy, maybe eighty of you.
If you need help, if you need to know the Lord, you need to come to me.
I can’t come to every one of you. I don’t know all your needs.
You have to come.”

It felt like he was speaking straight to me.

I shut off the car, walked right into that church — sweatpants, bright orange shirt, and all. I didn’t care how I looked. I just went.

I walked up to that altar, knelt down, and cried. Cried like a baby.

Because in that moment, I knew… the Lord was with me.

Later, as I was wiring that outlet box to the outside panel, I looked at it and whispered, “Oh Lord, please watch over me.”

Do you know how much power runs through a meter like that? One wrong move could have been it for me.

But I wasn’t alone. He was there.
No one else showed up, but God did.

And because of that — because of Him — my tiny home now represents peace, love, and faith. God is the center of my home, and I will always keep Him there.

If you’re reading this and you’re stuck in a bad relationship, or in a home where you don’t feel safe — please know this: you can do it.

You can rebuild. You can start over. You can find peace again.

You might feel like no one has your back, but I do.
And more importantly — the Lord does.

Together, we can walk toward something better. You can create a life filled with love, safety, and light.

When no one else shows up, remember this truth:

God always does.
